When you are arranging a guide related trip, you need to know the travel insurance is designed to meet your needs.

A trip is supposed to broaden your horizons, provide happy memories and provide new experiences that embrace the guiding culture. The last thing you need to worry about is finding an adequate travel insurance product that understands your needs.

That is why Unity Insurance Services, in conjunction with underwriters at Lloyd’s, has developed a travel insurance policy that is designed to meet your specific needs. We can cover your guides for medical expenses, emergency repatriation, losing their passport, cancellations and delays on overseas trips. Plus, unlike many policies, they will be covered for all recognised guiding activities.

Please note: With effect from the 1 May 2013 the Guides Travel rates will be increasing by 20%.

The rates can be found on the proposal form and are being increased due to the recent claims experience.

Do I have to declare pre existing medical conditions?


When providing travel insurance we assume that everyone is fit and healthy when booking and up until the date of travel. If anyone travelling has any of the following, you will need to complete a medical form for each person.
• Stroke, heart condition or circulatory disorder
• Cancer of any type
• Any mental nervous, depressive or stress related condition
• A slipped disc, other spinal disorder, diabetes, hernia or rheumatic or arthritic condition
• Any other injury or illness that has required inpatient treatment or investigation in the last two years.

Otherwise providing your doctor says it is OK for you to travel, you do not need to declare any other conditions.

What cancellation rights apply to this policy?

Insurers may cancel this group policy by sending 30 days notice the policyholder at their last known address

You may cancel this insurance within 14 days of receipt of the Policy provided that no claims have been incurred.

As soon as reasonably possible after the happening of any occurrence likely to give rise to a claim under this policy notice shall be given to our appointed claims handlers.
